Spiritual = being perfect…right!?

Spiritual = being perfect…right!?

Of course it does! Not!
o

But how many times have you caught yourself thinking

“They call themselves spiritual, yet they do…../don’t do…..!”

Come on, be honest, have you ever thought or said aloud anything like that? At all? Or is it just me? No, I doubt it’s just me…
o

I must confess, I’ve been conscious of doing this quite a lot lately:

“Call themselves spiritual, but they don’t even…

…bother to answer my emails.”

…say thank you when I have given them something/done something for them.”

OR, o

“How could they act that like, that doesn’t seem very spiritual! How can that be in integrity? I would never do that!”
o

Because all spiritual people are perfect, yes? I’m spiritual, & I’m perfect, yes?

NO!!!

Where have we (I) got it into our (my) head that being spiritual means being perfect? Means never making any mistakes, never being out of integrity, always doing what we (I) want them to do?
o
The good thing is, when I do catch myself in this judgemental place, I think back to myself & how there are definitely aspects of my life where I am out of integrity, & where I slip up (& I most definitely am not perfect by any means, nor will I ever be whilst on the earth plane).
o
There are also definitely times when I don’t do what others might hope or expect of me either, for various reasons (some not always so noble).
o
That’s when I see that this really isn’t about what other people do or don’t do, how spiritual they are or aren’t.
o
That this is really a huge gift for me! ~ Both for me to see where I am out of alignment, because with awareness comes the ability to do something about it; & also the opportunity to then send out rockets of desire & intention of how I would like to be moving forward, & become more of the person I have come here to be. Then over time, I can grow into being more of that person, & come into more alignment with the new me.
o
This is the true gift of awakening, of expansion, of personal, spiritual & professional evolution! Of transformation!
o
So, next time you catch yourself  having these thoughts, ask yourself what the gift is for you…
o
But then of course, you’re not likely to have these thoughts are you, because you’re perfect!! ;-)

O

Wishing you a phenomenal 2012, filled with love, joy, health, peace, passion, purpose & prosperity.

  1. I know exactly where you’re coming from.

    In my own mind, even if I don’t say it aloud to anyone, I get on my high horse about somone or something. Human nature I guess.

    I’ve learned by life experiences, though, that carrying out actions based upon such negative thoughts can only rebound back on you.

    If I do find myself doing that nowadays, though, after a few seconds I smile to myself, shake my head ruefully, and say to myself in my own mind to chill, or call myself a silly so-and-so to get het up like that in the first place.

    It’s our imperfections that help make us who we are. Recognising our imperfections, as well as others, help make us see what we can be and what we can achieve.
